Well, here I sit… there is so much do! My list is far to long for the hours of this day!
We all have lists, we all feel overwhelmed!
I struggle with migraines so stress is NOT helpful. One time a friend asked me if I could just try a bit harder to relax. HA! As if I wasn’t trying!
I had to laugh, and yet, maybe she had a point?
I have since tried to work in more playtime and breathing time (believe me, it is a work in progress).
So right now, I am going to find a quiet corner and breathe.
I encourage you to try it!
- Breathe in a slow, long breath – count to 4
- hold at the top – count to 4
- then breathe out slow and long – count to 4
- hold at the bottom – count to 4
- exhale – count to 4
Some people call it four-square breathing there are probably other names, too.
With each new breath you increase your count. This gives you power, the power to calm.
You really can do this anywhere and the more you do it, the better.
I have been doing it as a type and my heart rate has slowed.
My list is still too large, but my mind is clearer and calmer…
