I call the route around our orchard my “cloister walk” because it is the time that I take to observe nature and to pray for my family, friends, the future…
It all started with the need to teach my puppy her guarding boundaries.
So I had to do it everyday and what began as a chore turned into this thoughtful and introspective ritual.
When I walk I imagine health and happiness. I concentrate on my gratitudes. I think about who I am in this world, what I have to offer and what I need. It isn’t a long route and if I have time I walk it twice.
Somehow this brief but intentional ritual has become quite grounding.
It sets the tone for my day and helps me to start with focus and gratitude.
